What MCP is

An interface an AI assistant can use to work inside your note library. On your machine, not in the cloud.

NoteBay ships a small server that is only reachable on your own Mac. Assistants like Claude connect to it and can read, create, rename and sort notes. What they see is your decision, folder by folder.

What it is good for

• "Summarise this week's meeting notes into one overview."
• "Create a note for every open item in the minutes."
• "Tidy up the Projects folder and give the notes consistent names."
• "Find everything about the API migration and write me a status report."

Three levels

Under Settings, AI access you choose between Off (the server does not run), Read only (every write tool refuses) and Read and write. Out of the box, access is off.
